Relaxing dream-like scenarios

December 5, 2025

This one felt different from the others, and I liked the originality. It’s not really a game you should play if you want intensity or high stakes. It’s not even particularly coherent as a story. It reminded me of those guided meditations people sometimes do to fall asleep or relax. You just wander around in slightly surreal places. It’s all very calm, and nothing dangerous or unpleasant happens.

I don’t think that my choices mattered too much. There were surveys before each dream, and one of them asked if I preferred to be alone or in company. I chose company, but I was still alone lol. I don’t really know what meaning some of those questions had for the game, like how many hours of sleep you get, etc.

And then, a great number of choices in the game were about how you feel about something, and none of them impact the narrative too much. To be fair, there isn’t much of a narrative, just you exploring a dream kind of aimlessly.

But yeah, if you think of it as a guided meditation that you can slightly tailor to your preferences, then it’s pretty good.

Pleasant, but a bit too long?

November 4, 2025

Now, I was pretty sure from the beginning that this one was not ideal for me, because it openly told me that there was not much to do, only to experience and my ADHD-addled brain cannot focus on that sort of thing. Sure enough, my attention kept drifting off.

Hardly the fault of the narration, though, all things considered: It was very pleasant, steady and the descriptions were both calming and engaging. It could very easily function as a relaxation exercise, if it wasn’t just a tad too long. At some point, the uneventful account of my dream became a bit taxing in a way brevity might have prevented?

So, yeah, it’s a nice listening experience, just not quite my thing.

Like a real dream real confusing. But that's its aim.

September 25, 2025

Like a real dream, this story feels really confusing. However, to be fair, this is its aim. It doesn’t try to be a story, but rather an experience, that guides you into your sleep through immersion. And I think this a really intereseting idea, which fits perfectly for an interactive audio book.

But I think, it didn’t really succeed in its task entirely for 2 main reasons. The first is that the immersion often (2 times) gets interrupted by the robotic voice of the dreamshaper, where it gives you the option to personalize your dream experience. The second is that I often felt that these options in the end didn’t personalize the experience very much.

But it is still a very cool idea and for that I applaud it.

Super relaxing explorer story

It’s kind of mixture of a mystery and an adventure. Reminds me of the Myst adventure game.
