About this Story

You’re the hunter.

Your prey is the cunning nine-tailed fox, a creature known for stealing hearts, literally.

For month’s you have tracked it, finally catching up in a crumbling port town. As death and deceit surround you, you realize your very morality is called into question.

The closer you get, the less clear it is who’s chasing who and whether this is still a hunt or something far more dangerous.

Strong story! I want more!

July 8, 2026

Very cool! I got invested in this one.

The real voice acting makes a huge difference compared to AI voice acting, but I will say the recording was a bit uneven. There was a lot of room noise, and the middle sections seem to fade in and out in a distracting way that made some words hard to understand.

[spoilers]

I wish the mistake of waiting for the Fox at the docks instead of the inn had been my choice. Same with drinking the beer that made me too drowsy for my stakeout the first night, and drinking enough beer to not be able to fight back against Lizaveta—I’m forgetting her name at the moment. I know alcoholism doesn’t necessarily involve the choice to drink, but I didn’t feel the full weight of the baggage supposedly driving me to do so.

I enjoyed the twist of Nika being the fox, especially after I had confided in her. The steaks seemed to shoot up pretty quickly probably because this is a short isolated story, but I think if given several chapters, the tension and emotional involvement of this one could be very strong.

Not bad

This was an interesting introduction to the interactive story genre. The choices made sense and after the ending, I understood how they impacted the story.

Heart for a Hunter - The heart of a well-made interactive story

April 22, 2026

In short: A great example of how an interactive story with much replayability should be made.

Heart for a Hunter did not only provide a thrilling story but also a very interesting protagonist I am still engaged to find out more about.

For my first playthrough, I thought I had a good strategy to plan ahead and thought I would already know everything that would happen. But the story came up with many new opportunities and decisions; each one felt like it could decide over success and defeat in the end, so I always had to think everything through. Every decision was tough, but in a good way, while the story progressed and provided new and thrilling scenarios and information.

In the end I reached a bad ending for the protagonist, but since the story is so promising and there were so many different paths I could have gone, I am more than eager to play it at least one more time in the near future.

Immersive and well-written

January 8, 2026

I really enjoyed this one. The writing was great and the characters interesting, with some depth and backstories. The choices were meaningful and I regretted a few I made. I wish I could rewind and see where the story would take me if I took a few different turns. Still, the branch I ended up on was satisfying and meaningful.

My only slight criticism is about the voice acting — I could hear the breathing and other sounds that I wasn’t supposed to, so the recording could have been a bit better. And I personally think the voice/tone that the actor chose for Nika didn’t fit her character. For me, she should have sounded strong and confident, perhaps sly. However, these weren’t enough to spoil my enjoyment, and otherwise the voice acting was good, so I’ll give it 5 stars.

Wonderful story with great characters and choices

November 26, 2025

A wonderful story, that allows you to immerse yourself in it, feel with the characters and make choices that lead to unexpected outcomes. From the start, it reels you in and doesn’t let go, allowing you to explore a wonderfully crafted world, with distinct characters and choices that truely affect the story and its ending – making you question your own morality along the way.
