Excellent voice acting, immersive world with a lot of potential and... a weird storytelling choice

February 3, 2026

The voice acting was phenomenal, it truly elevated the story. I also liked the worldbuilding — there was a lot of potential there. But the story itself left me with a subtle feeling of disappointment. There seemed to be so much to discover and experience, but it ended abruptly, and I didn’t know what I did wrong.

The decision to include the “personal assistant” voice didn’t work for me at all. It seems like it was meant as comic relief, but it never made me laugh. Instead, it annoyed me and took me out of the story. Its robotic voice broke the magic and immersion carefully crafted by the narrator and undermined his work. It was out of place and made my experience much less enjoyable.

Very cool fantasy action.

Although I personally didn’t enjoy this story as much as many of the other 1 hour+ long stories on TWIST Tales, I still really liked and I am glad, that I checked it out. I really enjoyed the choices and the characters, not to mention, it is greatly voice acted.

My only real criticism is that it ended to abruptly IMO and I think the AI Alexa voice, is really unnecessary and breaks immersion.

A great story, ruined by a very weird decision

October 16, 2025

I clicked the story because I saw it was voiced by Matt Mercer and that was one heck of a sell. And he does a very great job narrating the story, giving every character a distinct voice that gives them a lot of personality.

However, for some reason, this adventure also has a computer voice that keeps chiming in at every given opportunity and I am sorry to say that it just really breaks immersion. It acts as this bathos-heavy comic relief that absolutely does not fit into the general tone and keeps undermining moments that would otherwise have felt meaningful and epic.

As it is, I simply was not able to enjoy this story and I can not, for the life of me, understand why they included this one element that breaks the whole experience.

A Great Hit of Matt Mercer Content Once Again

October 7, 2025

I’ll be honest, I chose Iron Falcon as my first story to experience on Twist Tales because I saw Matt Mercer as the voice actor. As a long time fan of both Dungeons and Dragons, along with his amazing campaigns of Critical Roll, I was truly excited to see what was in store. I can honestly say I wasn’t let down in any regard! It did a phenomenal job of scratching my fantasy itch while preparing my next personal D&D campaign. I will be playing through another time or two just to see how the different choices change the outcomes, though I fear the ranger main in me will always choose the bow as my weapon of choice.

I love the voice of Matthew and the story was great, however the interruptions of the alexa voice in-between the story was very off-putting
